The 6th highest mountain in the world Cho Oyu (8,201m) means “Turquoise Goddess” in the Tibetan language. The mountain is situated between the border of Nepal and Tibet (China). Cho Oyu mountain was ascended on 1954, October 19 by Herbert Techy, Joseph Josher and high altitude Sherpa Pasang Dawa Lama of an Austrian expedition via the north-west ridge.

Technically it is not difficult than other 8000m mountains, these would be the great expedition in the Himalaya those who have previous high altitude climbing experience. Cho Oyu it is straightforward approach and limited risk through rock and ice-fall, and avalanche conditions.

The scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubeshi takes 7-9 hours, which going to be a big adventure and you will have anxious to get first views of the majestic Himalayas.

Today our climbing guide take for the acclimatization up-to (5000m), of course, you will have a spectacular view of Cho Oyu, as well as Everest from the Northern side.

From Tingri we will drive continue to camp base camp, base camp is a relaxing and interesting adventure.  It offers great views of the surrounding Himalayan Giants, Everest, Cho Oyu, and Shishapangma

During this day we will make the plan to hike middle camp/advance base camp for the proper acclimatization and organize pre-climbing training final preparation. Also, we arrange yaks to go to advanced base camp via middle camp. At base camp, our teams organize puja ceremony before ascending as per Tibetan calendar on an auspicious day. It means the entire team to get together for a Buddhist ceremony asking the gods to look favourably on our expedition.

Camp 1 (6,500m)

To climb advance base camp to camp 1 begins through following the moraine valley to a small lake, before climbing steeply up a challenging scree slope to camp in a protected bowl on the glacial ridge. Our high altitude Sherpa’s will assist to carry high mountain groups equipment pick up drop campsite. Upon reach at camp one our high altitude Sherpa set camp.

Camp 2 (7,000m)

From camp 1 we use fixe rope to ascend camp 2, c2 it is located big flat, the route c2 is followed snow ridge with a 50-meter steep ice wall.

Camp 3 (7,400m)

C3 is situated at 7,413m) on flat space of the northwest ridge-face. Ascend from c2 it takes head wall 30-45 degree to reach camp 3.

From camp 3 we climb through a few small-easy rock steps and mixed snow at a 28-46-degree angle to the wide summit plateau and make the long traverse to the little bump that marks the summit. Finally, your dream comes true after summit Cho Oyo where you enjoy the full views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, and the entire Khumbu valley, as well as great views across the Tibetan range.

Today is a much easier day descent base camp.

During this day you will drive back via Tingri and Kerung continue to drive Kathmandu.

This is the last day of this great adventure trip with 8000expeditions in Nepal, in this day you will have a free day to explore, also the rest of the day for leisure or for looking around the local market for last minute shopping or personal activities. And at evening time we host farewell dinner to you with our teams at typical Nepali restaurant.

Trip Ends – we will Drop off at the airport for final departure to selected destination, before 2 hours ago. We ensure that you leave Kathmandu with lifetime memory with us and see up next trip.
