Above ABC we will follow the moraine towards the North Col. the North Col is a pass between the Everest North East Ridge and Changtse. The route begins with a relatively easy crossing of a glacier. Approximately one hour into the climb, climbers will reach the head wall of the North Col. the pitch increases to 50-80 degrees and climbers will begin using fixed ropes at the bottom of the pitch. At the top of the head, the wall is where Camp 1 will be established. The elevation at Camp 1 is approximately 7,020 meters and it takes most climbers approximately 5 hours to complete the climb Clients will make this climb multiple times in order to become acclimatized and to fine tune skills needed higher on the mountain.

Camp 2 –  Following Camp 1, Camp 2 will be established at the top of a reasonably angled snow slope. The top of the snow slope turns into a rock field and this is where the tents will be pitched at an altitude of approximately7800m. It takes climbers approximately 5-6hours to reach Camp2 from Camp 1. Climbers will spend the night at Camp II with Oxygen Support for sleeping.

Camp 3 – Located 8,300m from sea level, Camp 3 is normally on rock however it used to be snow covered some years ago and can still be snow covered depending on weather conditions. From Camp 2 the trail traverses to the West and up the North face around to the location of Camp 3. Sherpas will ensure that tents are erected and ample oxygen is supplied at both Camp 2 and Camp 3. Our Sherpa always take a surplus of Oxygen Bottles in order to ensure a margin of safety. From Camp 3 climbers will make their final summit push.

Summit day –  during the summit day Climbers must first make their way through three rock bands known as the first, second, and third steps.

First step – The First Step is a short rock buttress, which will have fixed ropes. It is located (8,500) meters to (8,535m).

Second step – Ascending from (8,570) meters to (8,625m)it is known as the Chinese ladder. All climbers will change oxygen near the second step in order to ensure ample Oxygen supply for the final summit push. The Second Step is across a series of small ledges which are sometimes snow covered, then around a large boulder.

Third step – The route continues on relatively easily with the smooth ground until we reach the third steps. After surmounting the 3rd Step, we will ascend from (8,690m) to (8800m). The summit is ahead after the third step, once above these steps, we will reach the final summit slopes (35 to 58 degrees).
