Maximum mountaineers prefer to climb Lobuche peak (6,119m) is another famous an adventurous. It is one of the popular Himalayan peak in Nepal, which is situated just close to the Khumbu Glacier in Everest Region. It offers the spectacular views of the Everest Himalayan range. More than thousands of mountaineers attempt each season even Everest Expedition member also climb for pre-acclimatize.
People are often confusing, it consists of two separate summits: Lobuche East (6,119m) & Lobuche West (6,145m). Lobuche west is hardest & challenging than the Lobuche east peak because of true summit requires the climb to steep snow and ice to the top from the summit ridge but climber requires an expedition-peak-permit and is considerably more expensive than Lobuche East. Lobuche East climbing route is from the south-west face through stone terraces and snow slopes with ice slope using fixing rope.
To climb Lobuche Peak with 8000expedition lead via famous Gokyo valley treks & Chola-pass for pre-acclimatize rotation. Gokyo Lake is the same altitude as Everest base camp (5,364m) including climb Gokyo-Ri provides great views of Everest (8,848m), Cho Oyu (8,201m) and many more beautiful peaks of Himalaya.
Today we welcome you to Nepal! Hope that you had a smooth flight. We’ll be waiting with a warm greeting and easy transfer to your hotel, then we will briefing on last minutes about the specific trip (Trekking or Peak climbing) with coffee in the hotel.
After having breakfast we will fight in Lukla for about 35 minutes from Kathmandu. During flying offers stunning views of the vast Himalayan mountain range. In Lukla, you will have a relaxed an hours before the first stage of the trek, where we will meet rest of our staff for the trek and carry a bag pack by the porter. The trek to Phakding for around 3-4 hours including lunch hour on the way before arriving Phakding.
Today, we cross the river on high suspension bridges with the forest full of Rhododendron and Pine trees, marvellous small and big waterfalls which are the famous attraction on this trek. The entrance to the Sagarmatha national park is just on the outskirts of Monjo. From Monjo, we begin to make gradual ascend till we get to an overhang suspension bridge and Namche. Beautiful peaks of Thamserku, Kangtega, Kusum Kanguru peaks can be seen.
On the 4th days will do a very short ascend trek from Namche to Khumjung village only about 2 hrs. Due to the short trip, most of the travellers explore this day is like acclimatization. It is important to take the day off to allow our bodies to adjust to the rarefied atmosphere before ascending to higher altitudes. Which provides the opportunity to explore the delights of this vibrant, prosperous village.
Before arriving in Khumjung village we will hike to Everest view hotel for the panoramic and spectacular view of mountains including Mt. Everest, Ama-Dablam, Kusum khangkaru, Choltse, Thamserku many more with having fresh and organic coffee enjoy.
On these days the trail goes on popular Everest Base camp route via Mongla and Photse tanga. Approx 6-7 hours trekking you can experience the excellent views of mountains including Mt Everest, Lhotse, Ama-Dablam, Kantega, and Thamserku.
From here relatively short day until Machhermo. About 3-4 hours trek again essential for good acclimatize. Machhermo is a significant place to trek as it offers a way to Gokyo valley.
Today 3-4 hours trek makes impressive Gokyo Lake. The views of the mountains are spectacular in Gokyo.
On this day you have the free day for short hiking around the valley.
On the 9th day, we will start from early morning to ascent Gokyo-Ri. About 2-3 hours of ascent- Gokyo-Ri which allows one of the beautiful views in the Himalayas. Gokyo-Ri itself on of the best panoramic view of Mt Everest, Cho Oyu, Labuche, Cholatse and beautiful Gokyo Lake in Nepal, which is you will never forget in a lifetime.
In addition, we will trek thangnak after return from Gokyo-Ri. Gokyo to Thangnak it takes 2-3 hours via crossing glacier on a rocky path.
Today before sunrise early morning we will climb up to cross Cho-la pass (5,368m). The Cho-la pass can be physically demanding and may require crampons in top if too much snow because of the slippery glacier and. The edge of the glacier is unstable. But from here you can see other beautiful Himalayan peaks Mt Everest, Ama-Dablam, Lobuche peak and many more. Most of the track goes through the rocky path until Zhongli (4,830m) where we will eat lunch after Complete Cho-la pass.
Ascent Thangnak to Cho-la pass 4-5 hours
Descent Cho-la pass to Zhong-la 2 hour
Today, we start again our trek to Lobuche which takes about 2-3 hour to reach via following the rocky moraine path.
On 10th days we will move Lobuche High Camp from Labuche village via base camp. Before we move high camp our Climbing Sherpa provide pre-climbing training at Labuche base camp with lunch. Our base camp will be set up at 4950m near a lake in a rocky hollow. From base camp, we will hike up high camp with some of the superb views of the mountains such as Amadablam, Cholaste, Thamserku, Kantega peak and Tawache peak.
Today early morning you’ll continuously hike from high camp to Summit. From here you can see many another peak clearly from there like Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Pumori etc. The route is going ascent through stone terraces and snow slopes with ice slope using fixing rope.
The climb to the summit leads to steep haul; while our guide will fix rope.
As these your destination, you’ll have to spend an extra day for the summit, In case of bad weather.
Finally, we will descend back to Namche after Pack up base camp via crossing Pangboche village & Tengboche with crossing Suspension River. But it will be very long day back to Namche Bazaar.
Our last day on the trail, we hike from Namche to Lukla about 7-8 hours, crossing eleven suspension bridges and re-entering the fertile valleys of the lower Dudh Kosi before reaching Lukla. This is the last day of our trek in a bustling city so enjoy dinner with the team members.
The scenic morning flight back to Kathmandu gives us one last chance to say farewell to the mountains. After arriving at Kathmandu Airport we will be transferring to the hotel. In these days you will have free days explore, also the rest of the day for leisure or for looking around the local market for last minute shopping or personal activities.
Evening time we will host farewell dinner in typical Nepali Restaurant.
Today is Trip Ends – we will Drop off at the airport for final departure to selected destination, before 2 hours ago. We ensure that you leave Kathmandu with lifetime memory with us and see up next trip.
