Mera Peak (6,476m) is the highest truly amazing peak in Nepal situated in Makalu Barun National Park in Khumbu Himalayan Range. Mera Peak is never particularly technically difficult, but there is the altitude to contend with which makes this an exciting and challenging trip. During the course of these expeditions, we can view world five of the six highest famous peaks in Nepal includes Mt Everest (8,848m), Mt Kanchenjunga (8,586m), Mt Lhotse (8,516m), Mt Makalu (8,485m) and Mt Cho Oyu (8,201m). The first ascent was made by Jimmy Roberts and His Sherpa Sean Tenzing on May 20, 1953.

The classic route takes you east out of Lakla and via (4,500m) Zatrwa- la Pass on your second day. Then we follow the route up the valley to Kothe, Tagnag and Khare and return the same way back. The 8000expedition trip leads hinku valley from off the beaten trails south-east of Khumbu to reach the remote areas of Pangom, Nanjing-dingma and Khola-Kharka around least travelled areas with proper 88 % acclimatization. The hinku valley route is a truly one of the world’s greatest treks.

Mera peaks attract many trekkers because of challenging- truly peak in the Himalaya, its height and coupled with the fact that it does not require technical expertise. To climb Mera it doesn’t require any pre-expedition training, 8000expedition team help you prepare for this adventure of a lifetime. Mera peak considers also ultra-pro-level ski area where some pro-skiers come for skiing.

Today we welcome you to Nepal! Hope that you had a smooth flight. We’ll be waiting with a warm greeting and easy transfer to your hotel, then we will briefing on last minutes about the specific trip (Trekking or Peak climbing) with coffee in the hotel.

On the second day, you will have half day sightseeing with we will complete your trip paperwork. Also, the day beings with a meeting and introducing with your mountain guide and finalizes the preparation of the expedition guide with suggesting over your gears what you have.

Today we will fight in Lukla for about 35 minutes from Kathmandu. During flying offers stunning views of the vast Himalayan mountain range. In Lukla, we will meet rest of our crew for the trek to carry luggage. Then we trek to Paiyo downhill and uphill to get Paiyo about 5-6 hours including lunch hour on the way before arriving Paiyo.

The second-day trail goes through rhododendron and bamboo forests on a narrow mountain. It gives you beautiful Sherpa valley & cultural experience

From here, we have good views of the south face of Mera with its twin peaks and of its neighbour Naulekh. It makes a scenic descent with beautiful views looking south across the endless foothills rising each side of the Hinku valley and climb up to an excellent campsite at Nanjing Dingma.

Today, our goes from the last traces of rhododendron and the terrain becomes more rugged passing through high grazing country and crossing a small pass to arrive at Khola Kharka, a campsite located best place at Riverside.

On 8 days our trek is downhill most of the time through rhododendron bushes and pine trees via riverside. After 6-7 hours trek, we will arrive sandy boulder-choked area known as Kote at an altitude of (3,550m). There are several Hotel and shops available and you really enjoy beautiful places.

Today is short day trek approx. 4-5 hours walk makes you the experience of the mountain. Normally trail starts straightway towards hinku Khola valley along with flat route of a retreating glacier.

On the 10th day, we will short trek approx. 4 hours through hinku riverside. Upon arriving Khare this campsite offers splendid vistas of the huge north face of Mera, Hinku Shar Glacier and Mera La.

This day has been specially set aside for giving us time to acclimatize completely and to have good rest. After relaxation, your mountain guide gives you pre-climbing training for climbing.

On the 12th day, we will walk through a boulder-strewn course on a steep trail to reach the Mera peak base Camp.  Almost 4 hours route it gives an excellent view of Himalayan range with Mera peak.

From base camp we will hike continue through the Mera La pass to reach the Mera high camp very steep on icy track, then it becomes gradually up till Mera high camp. From High camp, we view excellent views of Mt. Everest, Makalu, Cho Oyu the south face of Lhotse and Baruntse.

Today we advance towards them, our crew will wake up quite early at around 3 am to prepare hot drinks and light snacks but you should be ready prior time. Then we’ll slowly ascend the steep slopes. The ascent is easy as base camp to high camp which not-technical.

While you arrive summit and  return from top of Mera peaks approached magnificent panorama can be seen five of the world’s fourteen 8000meter peaks Everest(8,848m) and Lhotse (8,516m) just to the north, Cho Oyu (8,201m) in northwest, Kanchenjunga (8,585m)and Makalu (8,484m) to the east etc. It’s a truly memorable 8000m panorama view that you will never forget.

After summit upon arrive at high camp our chef provides awesome noodle soup and fresh juice. Here you will have been rest about an hour then continue descent Khare, which goes easy but you feel very tired after long day walk.

From Kothe our track goes through a beautiful jungle, around 6-7 hours trek to the kharka builds complete different experience after complete Mera Peak.

Today we will be arriving in Lukla via crossed the zatrwa-la pass at (4,600m). From Zatrwa pass entire trail goes steeply down until Lukla via beautiful forest. These will be an end of trekking walk so after arriving in Lukla hotel we will celebrate last day party with our crew.

The scenic morning flight back to Kathmandu gives us one last chance to say farewell to the mountains. After arriving at Kathmandu Airport we will be transferring to the hotel. In these days you will have free days explore, also the rest of the day for leisure or for looking around the local market for last minute shopping or personal activities.

Evening time we will host farewell dinner in typical Nepali Restaurant.
